At Rutland Water there is a wide variety of things to see and do. Footpaths and cycle paths around the shoreline take you through stunning countryside and you can hire your pedal power from the north shore Whitwell car park. Most popular water sports are catered for at Rutland Water, including fishing from shore or boat (also available at Eyebrook Reservoir) and casual sailing and wind surfing. You could also climb the new artificial rockface or take a trip on the Rutland Belle. There are many places to eat and drink around the reservoir and on the southern shore you could enjoy a round of golf amongst these wonderful backdrops. At Egleton lies the famous Bird Watching Centre, and at Skyes Lane there is a Tourist Information centre and the Butterfly & Aquatic centre.
